Dhiraagu renews corporate membership with MRC for 2021
Maldives Red Crescent (MRC) celebrates 12 years for their continuous service in the country at a celebratory event held at Dhiraagu Main Building. Speaking at this event, Secretary General to MRC, Fathimath Himya expressed her gratitude towards Dhiraagu for being the first cooperate member of MRC and for extending the annual grant that will only strengthen the relationship between the two organizations in the coming days.

COVID19 Vaccination Registration for Migrant Workers in the Maldive
As part of the Maldivian Red Crescent’s ongoing support towards the COVID19 response efforts, the National Society is extending its assistance in the work towards country-wide COVID19 immunisation, particularly towards the registration of the migrant worker population living in the Maldives for the COVID19 vaccine.

For many Maldivians living outside Malé, access to specialist healthcare requires a journey to the capital, a barrier that keeps quality medical care out of reach for too many people. In 2016, the MRC partnering with Universal Foundation brought specialist doctors directly to the islands where people live.

I Am for Humanity: MRC's National Awareness Campaign
Launched on 30 December 2012, the Maldivian Red Crescent launched the "I Am for Humanity" campaign. The campaign marked a concerted effort by MRC to strengthen its public presence, promote a culture of humanitarianism and volunteerism, and make its services more accessible to communities across the Maldives.

MRC Achieves ICRC Recognition and IFRC Membership
When the Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) held its inaugural General Assembly, it set itself an ambitious goal to fulfill the 10 conditions for recognition set out by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and secure full membership of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) before its third General Assembly. What followed was a period of focused institutional development that would culminate in a defining moment for humanitarianism in the Maldives.
