Building on previous engagement between the two organisations, the MoU sets the foundation for MRC to extend technical assistance and training support to MCS with a particular focus on first aid and psychosocial support capacity building of MCs. By strengthening the capacity of MCS officers and staff in these areas, the partnership aims to contribute to a more prepared and responsive correctional service, better equipped to support the wellbeing of those in their care and to respond effectively in emergency situations.
MRC looks forward to a productive partnership with the Maldives Correctional Service and to the shared commitment to building capacity that benefits both the institution and the communities it serves.
