During the exercise, MRC’s team provided Psychological First Aid and First Aid support across the Survivor Reception Centre (SRC), Family Reuniting Centre (FRC), and Friends and Relatives Reception Centre (FRRC), and assisted with casualty transport on request , playing a meaningful role across the full scope of the simulated emergency response.

Full scale emergency exercises of this kind are a critical part of preparedness allowing agencies to practise coordination, identify gaps, and build the working relationships that make response more effective when a real emergency occurs. EMEX 2026 was also an important opportunity for MRC Kulhudhuffushi City Unit to test its readiness and strengthen its role as an auxiliary to public authorities in emergency response ensuring that when a real emergency occurs, MRC’s teams are prepared, coordinated, and able to contribute effectively alongside the agencies they work with.
