The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight MRC's ongoing work in climate action and disaster risk reduction, including the worked carried out through the signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Maldives Meteorological Service, a partnership focused on advancing community-level early warning, climate literacy, and volunteer-based weather monitoring across the country.
Building on this foundation, the discussions explored potential areas of deeper engagement between MRC and the Ministry across climate action, disaster risk reduction, and community resilience, recognising that addressing the impacts of climate change requires coordinated effort across government, civil society, and humanitarian actors. MRC looks forward to developing this relationship further and to contributing to the national agenda on climate and environmental resilience in the Maldives.
