The visit provided an opportunity to follow up on the vehicle and dewatering equipment donated to MRC through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) programme, and to reflect on the implementation of the project, which the Embassy of Japan noted as among the strongest examples of GGP project delivery across all grantees, a reflection of the sustained and effective partnership between MRC and the Embassy of Japan.
Discussions also covered MRC’s long-term vision and future plans, as well as areas of shared interest for continued engagement between MRC and the Embassy of Japan, including an ongoing GGP project currently under implementation. The visit reinforced the strong and valued relationship between MRC and the Embassy of Japan, built through collaboration in strengthening humanitarian response capacity in the north of the Maldives.
