MRC delivers Psychological First Aid Training for Teachers Across Greater Malé

MRC in partnership with the National Mental Health Department and the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development, with support from the World Health Organization Maldives, to deliver a two-day Psychological First Aid (PFA) training for teachers from schools across the Greater Malé Region.

The training is designed to strengthen teachers' capacity to provide immediate mental health and psychosocial support to students following crises or traumatic events. Teachers are often among the first trusted adults that children turn to in moments of distress, equipping them with PFA skills ensures that schools are not only places of learning, but also spaces where students can find timely, informed, and compassionate support when they need it most.

MRC is proud to have contributed to this collaboration, and remains committed to working alongside national partners to strengthen mental health and psychosocial support capacity across communities in the Maldives.
