MRC Delivers Basic Psychological First Aid Training in Partnership with Transparency Maldives Across Communities Under Resilient Communities Project

As part of the Resilient Communities Project, in partnership with Transparency Maldives (TM) funded by the Australian High Commission in the Maldives, MRC delivered a series of Basic Psychological First Aid (BPFA) training sessions across island communities in February 2026, equipping participants with practical skills to support individuals in distress and strengthen community resilience.

Across February 2026, MRC conducted two-day BPFA training sessions in Th. Veymandoo and R. Ungoofaaru, providing participants with essential skills to recognize and respond to the psychosocial needs of those experiencing distress extending the reach of the Programme to communities across different regions of the Maldives.

Both sessions combined structured learning with practical application to build the capacity of community members to provide meaningful psychosocial support in their localities. Through the partnership opportunity through the Resilient Communities Project, MRC continues to invest in strengthening community-based mental health and psychosocial support across the Maldives, bringing essential skills closer to the communities that need them most.
