MRC Delivers Basic Psychological First Aid Training for MNU Kulhudhuffushi Campus Staff

The two-day training equipped participants with practical skills to recognise and respond to psychological distress, provide initial support in a compassionate and informed manner, and facilitate appropriate referrals to further care where needed. As part of MRC's Mental Health and Psychosocial Support training portfolio, the training reflects the growing recognition that mental health awareness and response capacity is as important in professional and educational settings as it is in emergency contexts.

Staff in educational institutions are often among the first to notice when a student or colleague is struggling, making this kind of training particularly valuable. By building psychosocial first aid skills within the MNU Kulhudhuffushi Campus team, the training strengthens the institution's ability to create a more supportive, informed, and responsive environment for both staff and students.

MRC is committed to extending mental health and psychosocial support capacity across institutions and communities throughout the Maldives, recognising that a more prepared and compassionate workforce contributes directly to the wellbeing of the communities it serves.
