The relief fund was initially opened from 14th to 28th October 2023, and later extended up to 12th November 2023. The MRC concluded the collection of donations for the Palestine Relief Fund on November 12, 2023. The cumulative amount raised for the MRC Palestine Relief Fund from October 14, 2023 - November 12, 2023, is MVR 7,396,662.56 (USD 479,679.80). On 19th November 2023, Maldivian Red Crescent initiated the process for transfer of funds for the 2nd tranche and completed the transfer of funds of MVR 5,257,815.69 (USD 340,973) to Palestinian Red Crescent Society’s bank account on 06thDecember 2023. MRC completes the 2nd tranche of the Palestine Relief Fund donations
he Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) Palestine Relief Fund was opened on 14th October 2023 in response to the emergency appeal by Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to donate funds to support the response and relief efforts in the rapidly escalating Humanitarian Crisis in the Gaza Strip.
