MRC in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and with support from the Italian Red Cross, is pleased to announce the launch of Madhadhuveni 4.0 – Youth Climate Innovation Challenge, under the Youth-Led Urban Resilience and Climate Action Project.

Madhadhuveni is the flagship youth volunteer initiative of MRC's Kulhudhuffushi City Unit, and its fourth edition brings together young people from across the northern atolls for a four-day residential camp dedicated to developing practical, community-based climate solutions. The camp is an initiative of MRC's Youth Network, led by the youth of the Kulhudhuffushi City Unit and supported by the National Youth Council.

Taking place from 22nd – 25th July 2026 in Kulhudhuffushi City, the camp will provide participants with a hands-on learning experience spanning climate and urban resilience in the Maldivian context, innovation and problem-solving, community-based solution design, teamwork and leadership, and exposure to mentors and experts working in climate action culminating in participants developing and pitching their own project ideas.
