Ali Irufan

Ali Irufan is currently the Project Director of the Public Finance Modernization Section at the Ministry of Finance. Prior to his appointment as Project Director, he served as a consultant for the Public Finance Development Service and as a Fund Analyst for the Treasury and Public Accounts Department. He has over fourteen years of experience in public finance and public procurement, including donor-funded projects.

He is a member of the South Asian Federation of Accountants' (SAFA) committee on government and public sector accounting, as well as the Finance Commission of the Maldivian Red Crescent. Furthermore, he served as a vice chairman of the National Tender Board and as a committee member of the State Internal Audit Committee.

He is a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). In addition, he holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of the West of England and a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy and Finance from Heriot-Watt University.
