Marking International Migrants Day 2025: Health and Legal Services Camp

The International Migrants Day is marked annually on 18th December, highlighting the importance of honoring and recognizing the strength and perseverance of migrants in our community.

On 23rd January 2026, in commemoration of International Migrants Day 2025, MRC, alongside partners IOM Maldives, Transparency Maldives, Housing Development Corporation, and the Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives, jointly hosted a Health and Legal Services Camp for the migrant community.

The camp provided opportunities for migrants to access free medical check-ups, legal guidance, and information on essential services in a safe and welcoming environment. Other key partners, including the Human Rights Commission, Villa College, Tamil Sangam, and the Indian Cultural Centre contributed to the success of the event, with the latter adding a cultural performance that brought celebration to the day.

This initiative reflects a growing commitment to building inclusive, supportive spaces for migrants in the Maldives, ensuring access to care, justice, and dignity. Looking ahead, we aim to expand outreach and strengthen service delivery to better support migrant communities nationwide.
