MRC Launches Volunteer Leaderboard on MRC Hub for International Volunteer Day 2025
Launched in August 2024 with support from the Turkish Red Crescent’s National Societies Support Fund, the MRC Hub marked a major milestone in our digital journey. Introduced during MRC’s 15th Anniversary celebrations, the platform was created to modernize how we connect with volunteers, members, and communities by bringing our engagement and information management into one unified digital space. The Hub was envisioned not just as a tool, but as a step towards transforming how we work making it easier for people to join our mission, participate in our activities, and stay connected with MRC.
MRC's digital transformation efforts are closely aligned with the IFRC’s Digital Transformation Strategy, and the MRC Hub is a clear demonstration of this commitment. By adopting an innovative, user-focused digital approach via MRC Hub for volunteer and member management, engagement, and activity tracking, we are reshaping how we operate. Since the launch of MRC Hub, MRC have transitioned all volunteer and member data management into this digital system. This shift has allowed us to centralize information, enhance engagement, and promote greater transparency across all MRC Units making our work more responsive, streamlined, and accessible.
Before the MRC Hub, our volunteer management relied on manual processes, time-consuming coordination, scattered communication channels, and individual efforts to consolidate information. This limited our ability to update records quickly, mobilize volunteers efficiently, or clearly understand the scale of our community impact. Moving to a unified digital system has transformed this. The MRC Hub enables real-time access to information, smoother coordination, and the ability to track volunteer activities and contributions more effectively. These improvements not only strengthen our internal systems but also aims to create a more inclusive and supportive experience for volunteers, ensuring their time and contributions are recognized promptly and accurately.

The Volunteer Leaderboard feature on MRC Hub, is an impactful feature that builds on the digital progress made by MRC in the past year. This year, we are aiming to highlight and showcase volunteer contribution hours across all MRC Units bringing visibility to the dedication and committment of volunteers across MRC.As we harmonize data and usage of MRC hub for activity management, we aim to expand the leaderboard to reflect diverse forms of contribution, from skills shared, trainings completed, events attended and more.
Like the leaderboard, MRC aims to leverage innovative digital features that can meaningfully recognize and celebrate the people who make our work possible. With limited resources, these kinds of digital solutions help us work smarter, demonstrate impact more clearly, and continue strengthening the foundation of volunteerism that MRC relies on.
As we continue to grow and refine the MRC Hub, we remain committed to building a more connected, transparent, and future-ready organisation one that embraces technology to uplift our volunteers and enhance our humanitarian service nationwide.
