Community First Aid

Our first aid trainings are globally recognized and uphold the International Red Cross Red Crescent standards. We offer a wide range of first aid courses to and currently cater to over 60 corporates, including resorts in the Maldives.

Commercial First Aid

The following first aid courses are offered by Maldivian Red Crescent under its Commercial First Aid Programme.

Standard First Aid

Course Summary: The Standard First Aid course comprises of 21 hours of training and includes a wide range of modules that provide comprehensive information with a focus on practical application. First aiders who successfully complete this course is deemed competent to deal with any minor situation a first aider may face. This course covers Life threatening conditions (CPR/sever blood loss), medical and miscellaneous conditions including emergency child birth.

 Course Outline

  • Incident management:
  • Recognition and care of unconscious casualty
  • CPR adults and children
  • Management of blood loss and shock
  • General management of burns
  • Recognition and management of fractures
  • Recognition and care of casualties with spinal injuries
  • Transportation of casualties
  • Medical conditions
  • Misc. conditions
  • Major incident management

Basic First Aid

Course summary: Entails 7 hours of training with a few prime modules and limited time for practice.  After completion the participant will be able to deal with life threatening injuries and conditions. And will have a very basic idea of transportation of casualty, first aid for medical and miscellaneous conditions. The modules marked will be assessed other modules will not be assessed in this course.

First Aid Annual Refresher Course
Course summary: This is a mandatory 3 hour course that needs to be completed annually. This course will cover the same topics as the Emergency Basic Life Support course.

  • Management of blood loss and shock

Emergency Basic Life Support

Course summary: This is a one day (3 hour) course. As the name suggests the participant will have awareness on how to deal with an emergency and treat life threatening conditions. This will cover unconscious breathing and non breathing casualty. As well as manage severe blood loss and shock.
